Pizza head
Posted by Floorgasm @ 11:45 pm
A Welshman has had a slice of ham and pineapple pizza tattooed on the back of his head. Colin Helsby's tattoo took three hours to complete and features three types of ham, chunks of pineapple and strands of cheese dripping down his neck. The 45-year-old had the tattoo to raise cash for a cystic fibrosis charity and to celebrate the opening of his new business - a takeaway pizza shop. Mr Helsby, from Penmaenmawr, north Wales, said he had a bit of a headache but was happy with his new look, reports CBBC News. He said: "I'm really pleased with it, and I'll keep my head shaved at the back for a few weeks to show it off." Tattooist Blane Dickinson, who tattooed a full English breakfast across the top of a man's head last month, said he liked the result: "It's really colourful, and I'm very proud of it."

Fish and chips tonight then?
Posted by Floorgasm @ 11:03 pm
It's no longer a secret how five loaves and two fish managed to feed the five thousand - especially if the sea-dwelling delicacies in question were as big as this mammoth. This whale shark was caught off the coast of China by fishermen who managed to harness the ten-metre, eight-tonne whopper. The prize shark's hefty load took over an hour to be hoisted in an industrial crane back on to dry land, where it was sliced into relatively smaller pieces. With no fish monger big enough to chop it up in, work had to take place in the street. Whale sharks are the largest living fish but it eats tiny krill and plankton. They are believed to have originated around 60 million years ago and can grow to more than 13m (45ft) and weigh more than 21 tonnes.

Horror of neck tumour man
Posted by Floorgasm @ 8:01 pm
A man from China is to finally have a huge tumour removed today after discovering it 17 years ago. Huang Liqian, 58, first discovered a bizarre growth on the back of his neck in 1990, but chose to ignore it. However, as the years rolled on, it continued to increase in size at a rapid pace, with the growth ballooning to 15kg. Liqian developed symptoms such as severe pain and restricted movement two years ago, so he decided that it was time to find out what was happening to his body. After finally approaching doctors with the growing problem, his medical diagnosis revealed that he had a neck tumour. Liqian was taken to the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongging University of Medical Services in southwest China's Chongging, where he is due to have the tumour removed.

Cheeky way to help the missus
Posted by Floorgasm @ 8:25 pm
A Chinese man is undergoing plastic surgery to reduce his protruding cheek bones to let his wife live longer. Lang Qiang says fortune-tellers told him his wife would die before him - because of the effect of his cheekbones. Lang, 48, of Chongqing city, said: "I believe it without any doubt. Misfortunes are always happening to my wife, while I have none. "For example, every morning, we need to go downstairs to pick up the bottled milk. I've never had a problem, but my wife fell and fractured her legs going down the stairs. Another time I stood on a bench to hang a cloth. Then my wife stood on it, and the bench broke." Lang says more than one fortune-teller told him his protruding cheekbones were killing his wife so he finally decided to have plastic surgery. "I always feel sorry for my wife and want to do something to make things up," he said. "I told my wife I would go on a business trip for more than 10 days. I want to give her a surprise." The operation was a success, but the surgeon advised Lang to get rid of his superstitions, reports Chongqing Morning News.
